Today we got together 7 riders with all hardtail bikes.
We are all the time enthusiastic about the-most-advanced-all-mountain bikes, such as Yeti SB66, Intense Tracer 2, Morewood Sukuma, Devinci Dixon. On the other hand, hardtail bikes are simple and made us go back basic. I thought such a day which everyone ride a hardtail bike would come someday but the day came earlier.

Lightly covered with snow at the trail head.
We ran two time on a XC-ish loop. It is said that chromoly steel hardtail bikes are flexible but changing from a 6-inch bike, I felt that my Unauthorized 45 rpm bump hard from the ground all the time and rigid enough. I was not able to stabilize the bike in the 1st lap. But in the second lap, I was getting used to and remembered riding of hardtail bikes.
I felt that the difficult point was climbing not descending on hardtail bikes. I usually ride a Yeti SB 66 that keeps forwarding when pendaling at full power. On hardtail bikes, it is difficult to pedal and weaken on rough-climb terrains. Also sitting point of the seat is difficult for the efficient pedalling.
I wil ride with Unauthorized 45 rpm next time on a long trail to find out good or bad points of the bike.
Record of the day
